The libraries seem to take a lead on offering opportunities on ‘alternative learning’, compared to the classroom. Books are an excellent source of stories, nay adventures, and have represented a great environment to stimulate L2 learning for adult learners in Norway.
Our project partner Oslo VO Skullerud
has conveyed more ‘Life, All-In’ project toolkit piloting with this good practice on non-formal learning and blending it in the formal curriculum, as means for stimulating students’ interaction outside the classroom, too.
Exchanging books and talking about what students have read, in Norwegian, provides for extended vocabulary and more language practice.
